I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and share some information about myself. I graduated from Sam Houston State University and began my career as an educator in 1969. I started my teaching career in Pasadena ISD
as a fifth grade teacher at Pomeroy Elementary. I taught at Burnett and J.D. Parks Elementary Schools, also in Pasadena. Then in 1982 I completed my Masters Degree from the University of Houston and became an assistant principal at Teague Elementary. In the fall of 1984, I was selected to be the principal at Pomeroy Elementary. In 1992 my husband, Joe, and I moved to Crockett. I was the
head of school at the Jordan School until I went to work for Crockett ISD as the elementary principal. In 2001 I was promoted to deputy superintendent for curriculum and instruction and remained in that position until 2004, when I retired. In 2005 I was elected as a Crockett school board trustee for District 2.
My philosophy of education is that students' needs come first. My job as an educator is to educate the whole child – academically, socially, and emotionally – and to ensure they have the ability to be a productive member of society. All decisions I make as an educator are made in the best interest of students.
My husband and I have two children, Jason and Paige, and five beautiful grandsons. We own a small business in Crockett, the Mercantile Antiques. We are members of the First Presbyterian Church in Crockett.
I am delighted to be the new principal at Latexo High School. I think we have a very talented staff and wonderful students. I am looking forward to meeting all of you in person. Please feel free to come by the school anytime to share conversation or concerns. Call me or email me at painsworth@latexoisd.net.
Sincerely,
Pam Ainsworth |
