Since coming to Latexo ISD eight years ago, the district has undergone many changes. These changes include not only the physical conditions of the district but also the personnel and curriculum offerings at the campuses.
The physical changes include a new agriculture classroom and expansion of the shop area, a greenhouse, three additional storage areas for supplies and maintenance equipment. The high school has been repainted as well as the gym, cafeteria, and locker rooms. Carpet and tile have been an ongoing and continuous process. The district has purchased five busses and has ordered another new bus.
The district hired another counselor, to provide additional services to meet the needs of our students. Additionally, technology continues to be integrated into the curriculum.

The district offers a dyslexia and ESL program to meet the diverse needs of our students. Plans are now underway to expand our science curriculum.
Latexo ISD is a recognized district as is the elementary school. The district has student-centered teachers and staff, a supportive community, and a school board that is committed to providing leadership to continue to enrich the lives of the students within Latexo ISD.

As assistant superintendent of Latexo ISD, I have the privilege
and opportunity to work with a fabulous faculty/staff and great students. Our district strives to ensure that every decision that is made is focused on the needs and achivements of our students. Our district continually strives to strengthen and align curriculum/instruction and to implement innovative approaches to provide for a quality education for our students. The district was rated as a recognized district by TEA for the 2006-2007 school year.

As administrators, it is our duty to encourage personal growth in every student at Latexo Independent School District. In order to become productive citizens of our community, children should be educated in an environment where every opportunity to achieve growth is maximized. Parental involvement, technological advancements, and an individualized teaching environment are foremost in our curriculum.
